EDUCAUSE Live! Webinar: Navigate Your Career with Effective Communication

Young professionals are important to the higher ed IT workforce, as they can broaden and complement the suite of skills within a team by bringing new technical knowledge, innovative methods, and different viewpoints. Effective relationships and communication are essential to success and career development—they strengthen our contributions to our teams and the larger organization. It is important to build relationships with co-workers, key departments and organizations, end users, strategic partners, and leadership. In your early career, navigating these interactions can be especially difficult. It may feel like all these groups speak different languages, and it can even be a challenge to make connections within your own team. In this talk, John O’Brien will introduce the EDUCAUSE Young Professionals Advisory Council (YPAC). We will explore communication tools and techniques to help you build effective relationships within multigenerational teams, end users, and key partners. We will also provide ways to expand your professional network beyond your institution.
