Research Study of Texas Dual Credit Programs and Courses (Document)

The Texas Education Agency (TEA), in collaboration with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), contracted with American Institutes for Research (AIR) and Gibson Consulting Group, Inc. to conduct a research study of dual credit programs and courses in Texas. The study has three primary objectives, which are to:

  • Investigate the state context for dual credit programs and courses delivered during the 2009–10 academic year.
  • Conduct an analysis of the how the delivery of courses for dual credit are funded in Texas and determine the cost of dual credit programs and courses.
  • Make action-oriented, pragmatic policy recommendations to the 82nd Texas Legislature regarding dual credit programs and courses.
