Workplace Answers: Religion & Politics in the Workplace (Whitepaper) (Document)

Rating: 3.4/5 (12 votes cast)

As our nation celebrates the holidays and begins preparing for next year’s presidential election, the issue of religion and politics in the workplace has again become highly relevant to HR Professionals. This whitepaper discusses the many political discrimination and religious discrimination issues that HR will need to address over the next few months.

Discrimination training and diversity training is key to dealing with religion and politics at work.

There are certain difficulties and differences surrounding religion and politics in the workplace as compared to the other protected categories. Many employees believe they have First Amendment rights under the U.S. Constitution to express their religious and political views, in the workplace. This is partially true, particularly for public employees. However, many employees are not aware that their rights to religious and political freedom of speech are limited in the workplace.
